A visit to Longwood Gardens at Longwood Road Kennett Square in Pennsylvania, USA is one of those life long experiences that stay in your memories forever.
Thousands of flowers open up their world to you and let you explore them in their glory and splendor, in your own time and terms.
Roses, jasmine and red tulips symbolize love and many such flowers rejuvenate in one, a sexual awakening. The laurels ring a sound of victory and through all the rough challenges in my life, I feel I will overcome, I have overcome.
The white lilies sing of their chastity and purity and I see a figurine of the Blessed Virgin ready to give us a Christmas present soon – the baby Jesus.
The daisies with their sweet youthful innocence drive me back to beautiful past memories of my youth, to places I have passed and cherished, to good old family gatherings like Birthdays, Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving and Sundays
Orchids for Spring, Lotus for summer, Chrysanthemum for Fall and the Plum blossom for Winter. I go through seasons of life and embrace each with its gift and blessing.
Nostalgia overwhelms me with flashes of the sweet first days of Valentine, when a simple red rose flower blossomed my heart.
The fountains sing and hush in different tunes and rhythms and joyfully display their Crescendo and Diminuendo. And I taste life, in its freshness again and again.
The waters are fresh as those of a spring and what your mouth cannot drink your eyes feast on, it’s sweet delight.
The sound of drums through the streams create shoulder shimmies, messages of peace, a look at an inner self.
The trees and leaves whisper their welcome and the rabbits are so peaceful that they are not afraid to mingle with humans.
Some trees are as tall as Methuselah and their shadows profess whispered wisdom that comes down with the ages. I am covered.
The lights glitter and dance like a thousand little stars and I feel as if they know me by name.
We exchange sweet kisses as we seal our marriage promise to blossom like these flowers that rise and shine and never lose their beauty through nature’s harshest tides.
I do not want to leave this garden of Eden. But I promise to return soon, with an easy pass of USA $23 dollars to reclaim a part of my sanity and joy. I am calm.
